We partner with UNW Accountants who support our in-house accountancy function with management information oversight, tax planning and corporate finance advice.

With UNW's support, Clementine is able to offer our local authority and public sector partners the surety of numbers and accuracy they need to be able to award contracts with confidence.

Endeavour support us with legal expertise, sound corporate advice and deliver the responsive service our clients need when working through complex tender documents with tight mobilisation deadlines.

Clementine is aiming for national growth, and to do so we are building an impressive professional support structure to assist the senior management team. Having the right professional advisors in place is crucial to allow us to scale to the national level and beyond.

Clementine started out as the internal maintenance arm of Adavo Property. Adavo began in the aftermath of the credit crunch; a difficult trading period when mortgages and business funding was scarce on the ground. Adavo started on a shoestring by developing small scale projects via investor joint ventures, and then undertaking the lettings and management of those projects once they were complete. We soon grew a loyal customer base and began to prosper.

Our property management division was Adavo Lettings which operated from Tyneside. We offered a simple, faster service that was well received. The lettings business gave us a route to market, cash flow and repeating monthly revenues.

It all started from a small shop in Benton, Newcastle upon Tyne, but the ambition for larger impact was evident from the outset. Our lettings business grew to a six hundred thousand pound turnover in three years from a standing start, and we looked to branch out.

When you run a lettings business it gives you a live overview of the market. In time, you get an intuitive feel for the deal flow of the local market; what places will let, how quickly, and at what price.

We could see that demand in certain areas of the market was permanent and not particularly well serviced. Local and regional workspace was an area that particularly stood out.

Adavo Workspace began with Wallsend Town Hall and expanded well over the next few years. It grew to over 200+ office suites and TradesDesk serviced the repairs of those customers. Adavo now has a $10m+ balance sheet, has generated revenues in excess of $4m+ and paid over $2m+ in investor returns. The best thing it did though was lay the foundations for Clementine.

More buildings were added and our facilities capability expanded and matured. This extensive experience was the foundation of TradesDesk, which turned into what Clementine Services is today.

During Covid we took the decision to look to diversify our revenue streams further afield. Our facilities management via TradesDesk had always been a core strength, and we had lots of customers asking for us to do their work as well, so we took the plunge to spin our facilities division out as a separate business and (one re-brand later) Clementine Services was born.

We took our services to market, won lots of new customers, serviced them well, made our process adjustments, created robust systems and procedures, and thrived. We are now expanding once more and are looking at adding new trades and new locations in a well chosen sequence.

The main consideration is always our Proper Job Promise – we have to keep our standards high and we must be mindful of that as we grow.

We are aiming nationally and are building an infrastructure that will service installations, repairs and insurance cover plans nationwide and beyond.

As we build our network regionally and nationally over the coming year, we will become ever more valuable to our customer base and process greater numbers of jobs far more efficiently.

Great service takes time to perfect, but if we build daily, keep our quality high, keep our customers happy, we will build a reputation far and wide. We believe anything is possible, and are on the neverending journey of service excellence.

Our current operational goal is to grow to 50+ tradespeople in 2025. We have an established track record of hitting our goals, setting new ones and moving forward. Watch this space.
